The only IKEA store in Romania ups sales by 10%, accessories and decorations make almost half of turnover

The IKEA store in Romania ended the 2012-2103 fiscal year with total sales of some EUR 100 million (RON 440 million), a year-on-year increase of 10 percent.

The store located in Baneasa area in Romania’s capital welcomed more than 3.2 million visitors between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2013, which purchased a total of over 12 million products.

More than five million people checked the IKEA website in this period.

More than half of the products’ total value came from furniture items, while the rest of 44 percent was generated by accessories and decorations.

The retailer sold more than 65 million products in Romania since its entering on the Romanian market in 2007.

The IKEA Food department’s sales also went up seven percent in the fiscal year that ended on August 31, 2013.

IKEA currently owns one store in Romania, which is located in Bucharest, but the retailer plans to open a new unit in the country.

Swedish retailer IKEA had a turnover of some EUR 89 million in the financial year 2011 – 2012 in Romania, a growth of 10.8 percent on the previous period.

The IKEA store in Romania ended the 2012-2103 fiscal year with total sales of some EUR 100 million (RON 440 million), a year-on-year increase of 10 percent.

The store located in Baneasa area in Romania’s capital welcomed more than 3.2 million visitors between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2013, which purchased a total of over 12 million products.

More than five million people checked the IKEA website in this period.

More than half of the products’ total value came from furniture items, while the rest of 44 percent was generated by accessories and decorations.

The retailer sold more than 65 million products in Romania since its entering on the Romanian market in 2007.
