25 February 2016

The companies in Romania invested EUR 10-12 million last year in team building activities, according to Ascendis, one of the biggest team building organizers in the local market.

The companies aim to increase the employees’ engagement level and to create a culture that allows them to better cooperate at work. They want to reach some clear, tangible goals, according to Sergiu Teodosiu, a consultant for Ascendis.

“The companies focus on increasing performance and getting the employees out of their comfort zone, as well as synergies, cooperation, creativity and innovation,” Teodosiu explained.

He estimates that between 1,000 and 1,100 team buildings have been organized in Romania in 2015. Ascendis organized 280 such programs last year, up from 201 in 2014.

“The companies in Romania invested on average EUR 60 for each of the 19,000 employees who participated in the 280 team building programs that we delivered last year,” said Madalina Sava, a consultant for Ascendis.

The corporate events division generated a turnover of EUR 1.6 million, representing close to 30% of Ascendis group’s total revenues in 2015.
