Study: Most young Romanians would work abroad

08 May 2015

Only 18% of Romania’s youth in search of a job wouldn’t go for work abroad. This is one of the conclusions of a study carried out within the “Guarantee for Youth” campaign.

The state wants to reduce unemployment among young people aged 16-24 via this program, by helping them find good jobs.

The study also shows that lack of experience is a problem for 9 out of 10 young people looking for a job.

Some 7 out of 10 would be interested in opening their own business in the future. Only 21% of the respondents work in the same area they studied in school or university. Meanwhile, 40% are confident in a satisfactory professional future in the next five years.

Three quarters want to receive a satisfying salary in the first place, whereas 6 out of 10 also want to benefit from personal development and a constant balance between work and private life.
