The local company Primul Meridian SRL from Slatina has won a EUR 9 million contract (without VAT) for providing the integrated management plan of the Danube Delta area.

The Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve Authority has awarded the two-year contract via a public auction, reports local Profit.ro. The contract will be financed with EU funds.

Primul Meridian, which had a turnover of only EUR 463,000 in 2014, submitted the offer with other associates (Gauss Timisoara, the Institute of Forest Research and Management, Intergraph Computer Services and the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Banat "King Michael I of Romania" Timisoara).

It also had subcontractors such as the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Science of Moldavia, Institute of Research and Development for Aquatic Ecology, Fishing and Agriculture and the Romanian Institute for Evaluation and Strategy.

The winner can subcontract 23% of the work, according to the attribution notice.

Primul Meridian was established in 1994 and carries out design, planning, engineering and other technical services.
