Small earthquake felt in Bucharest

An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 degrees on the Richter scale took place on Wednesday, October 7, around noon in Romania’s Vrancea county, some 160 kilometers North-East of Bucharest.

The earthquake was apparently felt in the capital Bucharest as well, according to Mediafax.

So far this year, there have been a total of 14 earthquakes stronger than 4 degrees on the Richter scale in the Vrancea region, the strongest of which was 4.9 degrees and occurred on March 29.

The strongest earthquake in recent years was felt in Romania on November 22, 2014. It had 5.7 degrees.
