Sixth largest car parts producer opens new factory in Romania

09 December 2014

A multinational company in the automotive accessories industry could build a factory in the Ostroveni industrial park, near Ramnicu Valcea, in the central-south area of Romania, creating about 1,500 jobs, said Valcea Prefect Dumitru Cornoiu, cited by local Economica.net.

He mentioned that the company is already present in the Valcea county, employing about 300 people, probably referring to French automotive parts manufacturer Faurecia, 6th place in the world, which has been present in Valcea since 2013, where it opened a factory with about 300 employees.

The new factory will be built in 2015, on a three-hectare area in the Ostroveni industrial Park, Cornoiu said.

Faurecia produces auto parts for Ford, Renault-Nissan, Peugeot, BMW, Daimler, General Motors, Toyota and Hyundai. The company has factories in Pitesti, Craiova and Talmaciu, and manufactures car seats, interior systems and emissions control systems.
