10 August 2012

American actress Sharon Stone, who is in Romania filming together with Andy Garcia, needed medical care in the first day of shooting on the sets in Snagov, after she was stung by a bee. The two are shooting the feature length film "What About Love", directed by Klaus Menzel.

The 54-year old actress arrived in Romania with her three kids, her 27-year old boyfriend Martin Mica and two nannies. They are staying in a villa in Pipera, in the North of Bucharest, which has a 10 meter long pool. Stone will be paid EUR 8 million for her role in this film.

Andy Garcia, who in the first days of filming walked on the pontoon smoking a cigar during filming breaks, preferred to stay at a five-star hotel in Bucharest. He came to Romania before, in 2004, to shoot the movie Modigliani, in which he played the troubled artist.

The two are filming at the studios in Snagov, where a lot of Romanians picnicking on the other side of the Snagov lake have been sneaking a peek of the Hollywood stars.

The shooting, done through co-producer Castel Film, will continue in Bucharest until fall. The team shot some scenes in the mountain areas and on the Transfagarasan mountain road. Romanian actress Maia Morgensten and actor Ioan Andrei Ionescu will also be starring in this movie. The movie will also be shot in Spain, where the story of the two main characters, an American – Spanish couple continues with another leg of their European journey.

Sharon Stone, best known for her role in the erotic thriller Basic Instinct, is visiting Romania for the first time. Romania 'veteran' Andy Garcia, is well known for his  parts in Ocean’s Eleven and its sequels and in The Godfather: Part III.

‘What About Love’, Klaus Menzel’s independent medium budget feature will premiere in 2013.
