Serena Williams says she will train hard for her next game against Romanian Halep

22 October 2014

American Serena Williams, the current number one women tennis player in the world, described her performance in the match she lost to Romania’s Simona Halep as “embarrassing”. Serena won just two games during her second match in the WTA Finals in Singapore, which she lost 0-6, 2-6 to Romanian Simona Halep, the current number 4 in the WTA ranking.

"Embarrassing describes the way I played today," Williams said after the match.

The 33-year old who has been dominating women tennis for the last 15 years, and holds 18 Grand Slam titles, found new motivation in her loss to Simona Halep.

"To be frankly honest, I am looking forward to our next meeting because she is going to make me go home, train hard and particularly train for her," Williams said, according to ABC News.
