Romania's youth believe country's economy took turn for worse

An overwhelming majority of 91 percent of Romanian youth aged between 18 and 27 believe the country's economic situation took a turn for the worse in the past five years, found a survey conducted by Reader's Digest Magazine through pollster IMAS.  According to the survey, almost 70 percent of young Romanians think that the quality of the education system and health services has plunged and 58 percent say people are less civilized than five years ago.

For the vast majority of the youth in the 18 - 27 age bracket, the most important values are security (79 percent of the respondents placed it first by importance) and family life (75 percent). Only 29 percent of young people dream of an adventurous life.

As for emigration plans, 33 percent of young people are sure they will not leave Romania, and only 17 percent are positive that they will take this step.
