Romania’s unemployment rate among people aged 15-74 reached 6.9% in April, up 0.1% over the previous month. It also went up by 0.1% year-on-year.

The number of jobless amounted to 628,000 in April, up compared to March, when it reached 623,000, according to data from the National Statistics Institute.

The unemployment rate among men (7.6%) exceeds by 1.6% the unemployment rate among women (6%).

In April, the unemployment rate for adults aged 25-74 amounted to 5.5%. It reached 6.2% among men and 4.6% among women.

Some three quarters of the jobless Romanians were aged 25 to 74 in April 2015.
