Romania's trade deficit goes up by EUR 1.9 bln

Romania’s trade deficit reached EUR 7.2 billion in the first 11 months of the last year, up by EUR 1.9 billion compared to the same period in 2014.

The exports rose by 4.1% year-on-year, reaching EUR 50.6 billion in November 2015, while the imports grew by 7.2% to EUR 57.8 billion, according to the National Statistics Institute.

The value of exports inside the European Union amounted to EUR 37.4 billion whereas the imports from the EU totaled EUR 44.6 billion in the first eleven months of 2015. Outside the EU, exports reached EUR 13.16 billion and the imports amounted to EUR 13.18 billion during the same period.

Cars and transport equipment hold high shares in both exports (44.5%) and imports (37.2%).

Compared to October 2015, exports dropped by 4.8%, and imports decreased by 5.7% in November.
