Romania’s tennis player Simona Halep goes down to number 4 in WTA rankings

14 October 2014

Romanian tennis player Simona Halep will lose another position in the WTA rankings, going down to number 4 from the current third place. The new rankings will be published next Monday.

Halep currently has 6,246 points, while Czech tennis player Petra Kvitova has a total of 6,126 points. The Romanian will lose, at the end of this week, the 470 points which she received after winning the Kremlin Cup tournament in October 2013. Halep will not defend the title won in Moscow in order to get ready for the WTA Finals to be organized in Singapore, reports local Mediafax.

On the other hand, the Czech tennis player will keep her 6,126 points, thus surpassing Halep in the rankings.

American tennis player Serena Williams is ranking first in the top, followed by Russian Maria Sharapova on the second position.

Simona Halep went down to number three in WTA rankings earlier this month, after she climbed to second place in August this year.
