Romania’s real estate transactions triple in nine months

Romania’s real estate transactions grew by 215% in the first nine months of this year, the fastest increase in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

The value of real estate transactions, which was EUR 700 million, was lower than in Russia, Poland or Czech Republic, but higher compared to Hungary, according to real estate consultancy firm CBRE.

In the first nine months of 2013, the value of real estate transactions in Romania was of just EUR 222 million, and for the whole year they stood at EUR 300 million.

Real estate transactions in the CEE region, excluding Russia, in the first nine months of this year, were of EUR 4.3 billion, 11% higher compared to the same period of 2013.
