The Ministry of Regional Development has allocated EUR 90 million to build new social houses and refurbish high-risk and inefficient residential buildings.

Some EUR 5.6 million will go to the National Housing Agency (ANL) for building 280 apartments of 50 sqm, reports local Digi24. The rest of the money will be used to strengthen the seismic risk buildings or for the thermal rehabilitation of old apartment blocks, as well as for other social programs.

The Ministry has also allotted EUR 126 million for buildings of public interest, such as gyms and homes for the elderly. This money will finance the construction of new gyms, swimming pools, ice rinks, community centers, and homes for the elderly.

A part of the money will also be used to rehabilitate historical monuments.
