The strategic partnership with the US, NATO and the EU remain the fundamental pillars on which Romania builds its foreign policy, said the President Klaus Iohannis at the meeting with the heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in Romania.

Romania still wants to become part of the Schengen area, even if the Schengen space is now under challenge, Iohannis added.

The president also said that he expected more coherence, vision and strategy from the European Union.
