Romania’s Court of Accounts starts energy market audit

The Romanian Court of Accounts has started an audit on the energy market and has asked for information about the sector from the National Energy Regulation Authority – ANRE, according to Mediafax.

The audit started mid-September and covered both the free market, and the regulated market.

Large insolvent electricity producer Hidroelectrica is also part of the audit investigation, said lawyer Remus Borza, the judiciary administrator, who asked the Court of Accounts to check the company’s activity until it first became insolvent, in June 2012.
