Romania’s budget deficit stands at 0.5% of GDP after first six months

Romania’s consolidated budget deficit was of RON 3.5 billion (EUR 786 mln), or 0.5 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the first six months of the year, according to data from the Finance Ministry.

Budget revenues were RON 100.4 billion (EUR 22.56 billion), 3.7 percent higher than in the same period of 2013. Expenditures were of RON 103.9 billion (EUR 23.35 billion), 2.4 percent lower.

Romania has agreed with international institutions to keep its consolidated budget deficit under 2.2 percent of GDP this year.
