Romanians hit the slopes on Easter

Over 1,000 Romanians spent their Easter holiday on the slopes of Prahova Valley, where the snow layer is still one meter thick.

Tourists chose either the slopes of the Dorului Valley or Soarelui Valley in Sinaia, located at an altitude of 2,000 meters, in the Bucegi mountains, or the slopes Sorica and Cazacu in Azuga, according to Mediafax.

Prahova Valley is situated about 100 km north of the capital city of Bucharest. Sinaia is 120 km from Bucharest and 49 km from Brasov, in the Prahova Valley.

A large number of Romanians went to the mountain resorts in Valea Prahovei and around Brasov for their Easter holidays. They spent hours in traffic on Monday, when many of them returned to Bucharest.
