Romanian wine maker Domeniile Ostrov aims to double sales network in 2013

The Romanian wine producer Domeniile Ostrov plans to double the number of its HoReCa locations in 2013,  its wines being currently sold nationwide in 400 restaurants and pubs. The company which operates the brand,  Ostrovit S.A. estimates that at the end of 2012 it will register a turnover of some RON 16 billion (EUR 3.55 million).

Ostrovit S.A hopes to end 2012 with 5 million liters of wine sold, and says that its sales  strategy for 2013 aims for a 20 percent increase in turnover, according to Constantin Theodor Ilinca, the company's CEO.

Ostrov currently owns a vineyard on some 300 hectares, including the wine centers Ostrov and Lipnita, in Constanta county, located on the right bank of Danube, Romania’s natural border with Bulgaria. It produces red Cabernet Sauvignon wines but also white wines such as Italian Riesling, Feteasca Alba, Sauvignon Blanc.

Along with vineyards, the company also owns 500 acres of orchards and 200 hectares where it farms vegetables.
