Romanian subway company Metrorex to run bid for new mainline feasibility study

Romanian state-owned subway company Metrorex wants to organize a bid for pref-easibility and feasibility studies for works on a new subway mainline which will link southwestern Bucharest neighborhood Rahova to northeastern Colentina, the company has announced.

Works on the Rahova-Colentina mainline would last about eight years, said Metrorex. The company did not disclose either the value of the project or the date of the bid.

The future subway line will be about 21 kilometers long and will most likely have 31 stations. Metrorex estimates technical and economic indicators needed to start works will be ready in 12 months.
