Romania gets 4th place in the European Human Rights Moot Court Competition

Romanian students from the West University of Timisoara (UVT) finished fourth in the European Human Rights Moot Court Competition, a science contest for students organized by the European Law Students’ Association, in cooperation with the Council of Europe.

The final of the competition took place in Strasbourg (France) at the end of February.

A total of 16 teams qualified for the final round, out of a total 160 universities that participated in this contest. The Romanian team competed against students from schools in Austria, Croatia, Switzerland, Greece, UK, Norway, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, Sweden and Turkey, according to a statement of UVT.

UVT students Astrid Bolea, Roxana Jinaru, Izabella Kadar and Paul Suta qualified for the semifinals after winning the matches against teams from universities in Madrid (Spain) and Uppsala (Sweden). They ranked fourth in the final classification of the competition. Professor Valentin Constantin coordinated the Romanian team.
