Romanian students claim three gold, two silver medals at European Physics Olympiad

Romanian students ended the 7th European Physics Olympiad (EUPhO) with exceptional results, winning three gold and two silver medals. The competition took place in Hanover, Germany, from June 16 to 20.

According to the Ministry of Education, this is the best result the Romanian team obtained at the European Physics Olympiad.

Romania’s Vlad-Ștefan Oros (12th grade/Grigore Moisil Theoretical High School in Timișoara) claimed a gold medal and 1st place with the best result in the competition, including a special prize for the best paper in the theoretical test.

Meanwhile, Andrei-Darius Dragomir (11th grade/International Informatics High School in Bucharest) won gold and the special prize for the best experimental work. The third gold medal went to Alexandru Momoiu (11th grade/International Informatics High School in Bucharest).

Răzvan-Gabriel Marcu (12th grade/International Informatics High School in Bucharest) and Mihnea Butiurcă (12th grade/International Informatics High School in Bucharest) grabbed the two silver medals for Romania.

The 7th edition of the European Physics Olympiad (EUPhO) brought together competing students from 35 countries.
