Romanian Simona Halep nominated for 2015 WTA Shot Of The Year

Romania’s tennis player Simona Halep, number two in the world, was nominated for the 2015 WTA Shot Of The Year, as she won two WTA Shots Of The Month this year, in February and August.

In February, Halep won the WTA Shot of the Month for her cross-court backhand winner made during the tournament in Dubai, while in August she got the award for her backwards backhand winner at the Rogers Cup tournament.

The other nominees for the 2015 Shot Of The Year award are Maria Sharapova, Agnieszka Radwanska (four nominations), Angelique Kerber, and Ana Ivanovic. There will also be another nominee who can currently be voted on WTA’s website here.

The voting for the Shot Of The Year award will start on Monday, November 23, and will close Sunday, November 29. The voting is split into two groups, and the two shots from each group that receive the most votes will then be placed into a final group. The voting for the final group will start on November 30 and will end on December 6. The big winner will be announced on December 7.

After a good 2015, Romania’s Simona Halep hopes for bigger things in 2016.
