Romanian Post to lay off 56 managers
The Romanian Post will cut 56 management positions in the next period, the postal operator’s new interim general director Elena Petrascu said yesterday.
Petrascu will have a four-month mandate. “In the four months of my term I am going to capitalize the Romanian Post. I know exactly what I’ve gotten into. I know there's a lot to be done. I'm a woman, but if I consider that I have to be a man to get something, I'll be a man,” she said.
The Romanian Post currently has 102 management positions, 13 of which are directors. The rest of them are department heads. Several managers are detached to other institutions, including to the telecom regulator ANCOM, Petrascu said. The detached employees will be recalled and their activity will be analyzed.
The postal operator has submitted the document with its plans until 2023 to Deloitte. The basic measures are part of the memorandum recently adopted by the Government.
Elena Petrascu was appointed interim general manager earlier this month.
