Romania’s Transport Ministry will draft a blacklist of companies that don’t respect deadlines and that take advantage of contractual clauses to obtain additional revenues, said transport minister Razvan Cuc.

The blacklist will also include companies that have made a habit of challenging tender results and blocking investment projects, reports local News.ro. After the list is completed, the authorities will publish it, “to see exactly who keeps the investment objectives in place”, Cuc said.

The firms that don’t respect deadlines will pay. “Things are simple. We can’t play with the Romanians’ patience and the state’s money. Whoever wrongs will pay. This will happen to all the builders that don’t their job on time and don’t do quality work,” the minister added.

The minister also said that local authorities have terminated the contract of the company that had to build the Bacau bypass, and the constructor has been blacklisted.
