Romanian lender Banca Transilvania recently finalized its EUR 10 million office building and data center in Cluj – Napoca, in the industrial park Tetarom I. The building was finalized in a year and a half, with work having started at the end of 2011.

The new building hosts 350 employees from various departments of the bank, on the ground floor and five floors above.

The EUR 10 million investment included the building, as well as equipment for the data center. The bank will also open an outlet in the building to serve the employees working in the Tetarom I industrial park.

The bank recently ended its EUR 30 million bonds issuance, which was fully subscribed. This is the bank's second bonds issuance, with the first launched in 2005.

BT recorded a small drop in net profits in the first quarter of 2013, compared to the same period last year. Net profits were around EUR 19.3 million for Q1 2013, against some EUR 21 million for the first quarter last year.

The bank now serves the whole country, having expanded from its core in Cluj – Napoca, where it has 40 banking units.
