Romanian and Czech win doubles competition at Hobart tennis tournament

Romanian tennis player Monica Niculescu (in pic, left) has won, together with the Czech player Klara Zakopalova (in pic, right), the doubles competition of the Hobart tournament in Australia. The team came first, after beating the pair made of Lisa Raymond/Shuai Zhang (SUA/China).

The win is the pair's second doubles award this year, after getting the first prize at Shenzhen on January 4. Their Australian win brought them USD 12,300 in cash prizes, and 280 WTA points.

Monica Niculescu, 26, ranks 64th in the WTA singles rankings, and the third-ranked Romanian player.
