Romanian AdePlast takes over local operations of German producer Schomburg

Romanian construction materials producer AdePlast, owned by businessman Marcel Barbut, has taken over the license, production and distribution operations of German producer Schomburg on the local market, the company has recently announced.  Also, following this transaction, the Romanian producer expects its sales on this segment to double on a yearly basis.

The German group owns production facilities in the southern city of Ploiesti. Some of the Schomburg brands that will be offered by AdePlast are Aquafin CJ, Combiflex, Aquafin - 2 K/M, Thermopal and Cristallit.

In the first year after the acquisition, Romanian AdePlast plans to sell Schomburg products worth more than EUR 700,000, according to the company.

Schomburg is present on the Romanian market since 2005. The company produces a wide range of construction materials, such as waterproofing and restoration materials, tile and natural stone setting systems and additives for concrete and mortar.

AdePlast operates three industrial platforms in Romania, in Oradea, Ploiesti and Roman.

The Romanian producer inaugurated a EUR 3.2 million paint and decorative mortars factory in Ploiesti, southern Romania in august this year. Following this investment, AdePlast completed the EUR 23 million investment program started last year.

AdePlast is owned by Romanian investor Marcel Barbut and was founded in Oradea, in 1994.
