Romania scores draw with Switzerland in Euro Qualifiers

The Romanian national football team scored a draw with Switzerland, 2-2, in Group I of the qualifiers for the 2024 European Championship. The Swiss team led 2-0 until the last minutes of the match.

Swiss striker Zeki Amdouni scored two goals in the first part of the game, while his team created many more opportunities to extend their lead. Switzerland’s team led Romania going in the final minute of the match, according to Reuters.

And yet, by the time game ended, the hosts were left to wonder how they failed to win. Romanian player Valentin Mihăilă, 22, managed to score two back-to-back goals, in minutes 89 and 92 of the game.

Meanwhile, Romanian player Ianis Hagi stated on Monday evening that the national team demonstrated confidence and showed that they do not give up. Edward Iordănescu, the coach of the Romanian national team, said that the team is on the right path.

Switzerland still tops the group with 10 points, followed by Romania with 8 points and Israel, with 7.
