Romania’s construction output fell by 2.4 percent in June this year, compared to the previous month, this being the biggest decrease in the European Union (EU), according to the recent data provided by EU statistical office Eurostat. Romania was followed by Portugal - down 2.2 percent and Sweden - down 0.9 percent.

Increases were recorded by Slovenia, where the construction output increased by 10.5 percent over the previous month, followed by Poland - up 5.3 percent, and Germany with a month-on-month increase of 1.6 percent.

Construction output rose by 0.7 percent in the euro area and by 0.8 percent in the EU27 in June, over the previous month. Compared to June 2012, the euro area recorded a decrease of 3 percent, while in the EU27, the construction output went down 1.5 percent in June this year.
