Romania, Bulgaria, and Italy will receive EUR 66.5 million to compensate for the damages caused by the 2014 floods.

The European Commission decided yesterday to grant them aid from the European Union Solidarity Fund, following the three natural disasters that occurred in 2014.

Romania will receive EUR 8.5 million, Bulgaria - EUR 1.98 million and Italy - EUR 56 million, according to an EC press release. These amounts will partly cover the costs of the emergency recovery actions after the floods.

“These grants will contribute mainly to restoring infrastructure and vital services, will reimburse the costs of emergency and rescue operations and will cover partly the costs of cleaning the affected areas," reads the press release.
