Romanian police officers confiscated a total of 18.5 tons of oil products and EUR 74,000 in cash, after they raided more than 100 houses targeting oil thieves. They also held 56 persons suspected of stealing oil products from tanks and oil collection deposits.

The police conducted 112 house searches in this case, in Bucharest and Ialomita, Buzau and Braila counties, on October 7. More than 100 suspects were questioned.

The damage in this case was estimated at over EUR 400,000, according to local news agency Medifax.
