Romania will host a WTA tennis tournament starting 2014, which is expected to play an important role in promoting the country. The tennis competition will take place between July 8 and 14, immediately after the Wimbledon tournament will be over.

So far, the WTA was held in Budapest, but was recently moved to Bucharest. Last year, Romanian tennis player Simona Halep won the tournament.
