Romania and Hungary build joint telecommunication network

Romania and Hungary will interconnect their telecommunication networks with new fiber optics data transfer infrastructure, according to an agreement signed by the two countries.

Each state will set up the network on its territory with money received via the Romania-Hungary Cross-Border Cooperation Program 2007-2013. The networks will be interconnected between the Bors town in Romania and Artand town in Hungary, within 100 meters from the state border.

State institutions, NGOs, companies and people from the towns and villages located near the border will benefit from this network, reads a Government press release.
