Romania has new laboratory to test radiation levels of mobile phones

Romania’s communication authority ANCOM has set up a new laboratory in which it will be able to test in if the radiation levels of mobile phones sold in Romania meet EU regulations for user’s health and safety.

The new laboratory will be opened in Prejmer, Brasov county, and was built by a consortium made of local firms Comtest Voluntari and Thermo Fix Brasov, reports local Mediafax.

The contract had a value of some EUR 4 million, VAT included, and involved the design, construction, supply, installation and integration of specific equipment, as well as training activities for the ANCOM staff that will use the laboratory. The project was financed by ANCOM.
