Romania gets the gold at European Gymnastics Championships

Romania’s team of five landed the gold at the European Gymnastics Championship in Sofia this weekend. Romania outranked UK, which got the silver, and Russia, that came third.

The Romanian team tallied the highest totals on all events but uneven bars, and ended with a score of 172.754 more than two points higher than that of their closest competitors.

The Romanian team that won the gold on Saturday, May 17, was made of Diana Bulimar, Larisa Iordache, Andreea Munteanu, Alina Stanila and Silvia Zarzu. The first two will continue to represent Romania at the individual competitions on Sunday, May 18, which is also the last day of the competition.

Earlier this week, Romania’s junior team received the bronze medal in the team competition.
