Romanian gas transporter Transgaz signed a memorandum with Ukraine’s gas carrier Ukrtransgaz to develop the gas infrastructure, so that Ukraine can buy gas from Romania.

According to Transgaz, the collaboration with Ukrtransgaz has recently started and it’s now unfolding, but the company did not give details on when Ukraine could start importing gas from Romania, reports Icis.com.

Ukrtransgaz announced in May that it had started talks with Transgaz, being interested to import 1-2 billion cubic meters of gas a year from Romania.

The two countries share two interconnection points of their gas networks at Isaccea and Mediesu Aurit.
