Japanese car parts manufacturer to open plant in Romania

Japanese car parts manufacturer Roki plans to open a plant in the industrial park in Arad, in Western Romania, Mediafax reported. It will be the company’s first production center in Europe.

Roki works worldwide with clients such as General Motors, Nissan and Mazda.

Arad deputy mayor Călin Bibarţ met on September 15 with the company's representatives company and had talks about the new plant.

“The Japanese company, which works for General Motors, Nissan and Mazda, will open in Arad its first production center in Europe. The Japanese manufacturer rented for five years a 5,500 sqm space in the CTPark Arad logistic and industrial park, located at the city's exit towards Zădăreni, close to the pan-European highway. It will set up here a plant for filters for the auto industry,” according to the Arad City Hall.

The production could start in the spring of 2018, according to City Hall representatives.
