RATB to invest EUR 2 million in electric buses and automatic ticket machines for Romanian capital's transport system

The Bucharest Autonomous Transport Administration (RATB) will invest nearly EUR 2 million in the purchase of five electric buses and five automatic ticket machines in bus stations where there are high passenger volumes, according to report in the local media.

According to the representatives of RATB, the investments are ongoing. The electric buses cost around EUR 335,000, while the five automatic ticket machines value some EUR 932,500.

RATB representatives said the value of the investments was in line with budgeting approved by the General Council of Bucharest.

The automatic ticket machines are a response to demands from passengers to provide alternative ways of buying tickets to reduce waiting times, according to RATB.
