Public investment expenditure up by 24% in Romania next year

Romania’s public investment expenditure for next year amounts to EUR 10 billion, up 24% compared to the 2014 forecasted figures. The General Secretariat of the Government and the Ministry of Transport will undertake most projects from the 115 priority investments list.

"One of the commitments made by Romania with the International Monetary Fund and the European Commission is to refocus the public investment expenditure from investments entirely financed from the national budget to EU co-financed investments," reads a report of the Ministry of Public Finance, cited by local Mediafax.

The projects that got the best ratings in the analysis and evaluation process include building the Orastie-Sibiu, Timisoara-Lugoj, Sebes-Turda, Lugoj - Deva and Nadlac - Arad motorways, the Brasov railway line rehabilitation, or building the Brasov, Timisoara, Constanta belts and the south belt of the capital.
