Part of restructuring move, ING Lease Romania sells EUR 30 mln client portfolio to Raiffeisen Leasing

09 October 2013

Raiffeisen Leasing recently took over parts of the leasing portfolio of ING Lease Romania. The portfolio which is part of the deal is worth some EUR 30 million, and includes 60 large and medium corporate clients, as well as some employees of ING Lease Romania.

The deal, signed earlier this week (in picture) is pending the approval from the local Competition Council and could be finalized in the beginning of 2014. The portfolio taken over by Raiffeisen Leasing is divided between leasing for cars – around half, equipment – a third, and real estate, 18 percent.

This was, according to ING lease, a step forward in restructuring its activities in Romania, which will involve further transfers of most of the active clients.

Raiffeisen Leasing ended the first half of 2013 with new financings worth some EUR 35 million, up 10 percent on the same period in 2012. Its profit during this period was of EUR 1.4 million.

ING Lease Romania started activity in 2005. A year ago, parent company ING Group announced it would restructure leasing activities in several European countries, Romania included.
