(P) The People for People Gala Awards the winners of its 10th anniversary edition

The 10th edition of the People for People Gala on November 13, 2013 has awarded the most generous and most involved Romanians. This year, the impact of the 120 award winners and nominees is measured by amount of their donations and volunteering of almost EUR 14 million (62,132,881 lei). These resources were channeled to medical equipments for maternities, therapies for autistic children, care services for patients with terminal disease or elderly care, courses for students, electricity in a remote village, more blood for transfusions, on top of numerous social and civil actions that save lives and build the hope that Romania has the capacity to help itself.

The People for People Gala awards the most relevant philanthropic programs, both of companies and individuals, and acknowledges innovation and professionalism in the area of fundraising in the NGO sector and their volunteers. Along its 10 year history, more than 100 people and organizations were awarded, and more than 1000 have been nominated and have received the much worthed recognition. Their number and impact is much more remarkable given the context of the world economic crisis.

The Gala is organized by the Association for Community Relations, a group of professional that promote the philanthropic values through education and tools development for fundraising, and the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania (AmCham Romania), leading business association in Romania representing over 350 member companies.

The partner of this year’s edition was Raiffeisen Bank, a company that stands by the values of community involvement and philanthropy. The Gala was also supported by Deloitte, and media partners – Forbes, Digi24, Media IQ, City Compass, Romania Insider, Al Treilea Sector, stiriong.ro.
