(P) The ninth edition of The National Fundraising Conference

09 May 2012

We care innately about people in need, the enviroment and the more we want do good in the community, the more we realize that we need various resources in order to do the good wisely and efficient. ARC creates the context for learning how to balance the resources at The National Fundraising Conference, this year on May 22nd-23rd. It is the perfect context for learning beacause it brings together valuable human resources, new national mechanism for fundraising and knowledge. You can register until May 15th.

How much money buys you happiness?

Please note that we didn’t say “your happiness” :)

At some point in our lives we all get to one form of the question ”how do I save the world?” Each of us cares deeply about elderly, about children, the environment, old buildings or street dogs. We want to do something about that problem but we feel that our resources are limited.

We will see soon enough that any such social/cultural/ environmental enterprise needs resources. Money, volunteers, information.

This is why, if :

- You care about a cause and would like to help?

- You need to mobilize efficient and effective resources for an NGO?

Then you might consider attending the ninth edition of the National Fundraising Conference that will take place in Cluj on May 22nd-23rd and it is organized by ARC Romania.

Or you could suggest this event to your friends and colleagues in an NGO you care about. The final registration date is May 15. The event is divided into 16 parallel workshops and the language used is Romanian, with 2 exceptions.

This is the traditional annual event where senior and junior fundraisers, journalists, CSR managers and advertising specialists meet and discuss about their experiences in organizing fundraising events, campaigns (SMS, unconventional), developing their individual donor relations, marketing and good practices in fundraising for small or big NGOs.

For over 10 years ARC encourages, offers information and brings together fundraisers from all over the country. The Fundraising Conference is also the moment to find out more about a very new tool that will be launched in June by ARC and 6 banks in Romania, that will allow wide direct debit donations.

Here are some of the workshops of this year's conference:

- Taking good pictures to help you tell the story of your cause – Voicu Bojan, professional freelancer photographer

- Managing online communication- tools and costs - Monica Tomus and Alex Cioflica (Web designer and web developer)

- Donor management- Madalina Marcu (ARC) and Cristiana Ionescu (Dreamcatcher)

- Information management in donor care - Monica Tomus (ARC) and Cristiana Haita (United Way)

-How do fundraising events grow and their costs vs profit analysis Leslie Hawke (Ovidiu Rom) and Andreea Sorescu (Invingem Autismul)

- SMS donation campaigns - Florina Serban (Cosmote), Ciprian Dragomir(Mereu Aproape Foundation) and Maria Culescu (MAME Association).
