(P) Orange Night party 2013 April, 30th | Come meet the Dutch!

The Netherlands-Romanian Chamber of Commerce, together with the Dutch Association – Nederland.ro will celebrate Queen’s Day (the national celebration of the Netherlands) on the 30th of April at Biavati Events club, former Floreasca cinema (Str. Rahmaninov 2b).

This year’s celebration will coincide with the abdication of the current queen Beatrix and the inauguration of the new king Willem-Alexander.

In the Netherlands the Queen’s Day is celebrated on the 30th of April, the birthday of the previous Dutch queen Juliana. Since the coronation of Queen Beatrix in 1980, she decided to keep the national celebration on the 30th of April. Traditionally, the Dutch people celebrate this national day by wearing orange, the color of the Dutch royal house – Van Oranje-Nassau.

At 8 PM the evening will be opened with speeches by the President of the Netherlands-Romanian Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Peter de Ruiter, as well as by the Netherlands Ambassador to Romania, HE Mr. Matthijs van Bonzel.

Following at 8.30 PM the King’s Song will be sung, as a present and in honour of the new King of The Netherlands. This song will be sung at the same moment by all Dutch people all over the world.

All the money that is raised during the raffle which is organised later that evening will be given to a Charity, the Acorns Foundation. The prizes for the raffle are generously provided by KLM, Philips, Lekker.ro, Maastricht School of Management, restaurant The Artist and Beros & Van Schaik Wine Traders.

This event was made possible through the sponsorships of several Dutch companies such as Heineken, KLM and Philips.

The tickets for the party can be purchased at the Rembrandt Hotel, the Maastricht School of Management, The Dutch cheeseshops at the METRO Bucharest and the American and British School in Pipera.
