Over 80% absorption rate for agricultural funds in Romania

The Agency of Payments and Intervention for Agriculture (APIA) carried out between 2007 and 2014 payments worth EUR 9 billion from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF), the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) and the national budget, which represent an 87.1% absorption rate of the allocated funds, according to a press release.

The agency paid farmers EUR 1.42 billion in 2014 from the EAGF, payments that are related to the Single Area Payment Scheme (SAPS), specific aid, market measures and programs destined to promote agricultural products on third country markets.
