Orange Romania notifies clients about phishing campaign
Orange Romania, the biggest local mobile carrier, notified its clients about an email phishing campaign that aims to illegally collect its user’s log in data in the MyOrange account.
Orange users have received an email that promises them 1,000 Thank You points and the possibility to buy a premium smartphone at a special price. The link in the email sends users to a fake web page which captures the users’ log in data then redirects them to the real Orange log in page.
Users won’t even suspect their data has been stolen, Orange warns and advises clients who have been exposed to this campaign to urgently change their passwords. Orange has over 10.6 million clients in Romania.
