Snacks and cereals producer Kellogg’s will move 80 jobs from the British city of Manchester to Romania’s capital Bucharest, according to British newspaper Manchester Evening News.

Kellogg’s already announced it would move its European Financial Services Centre to Bucharest in Romania. The center is currently run from the cereal company’s base on Talbot Road, Trafford.

Kellogg’s is one of America’s iconic consumer companies, with more than a 100 years history. Kellogg’s practically introduced the cereals into America’s pop culture, and has become a household brand.

The company, which is headquartered in Battle Creek, Michigan, produces 23 brands of cereals, among which famous brands such as Kellogg’s Frosties and Kellogg’s Coco Pops, but it also produces the Pringles chips.

The company had a turnover of USD 14.7 billion last year and a net profit of USD 1.8 billion. Kellogg’s has been listed on the New York Stock Exchange for more than 55 years. Currently it has a market capitalization of USD 24.5 billion. The company has operations in 18 countries.

Kellogg’s president and chief executive John Bryant recently said he wants to implement ‘a Global Business Services (GBS) model to streamline business support processes in Finance, IT, Supply Chain and HR'. He said that the move to a GBS model would drive efficiencies that generate cost savings for Kellogg's to reinvest in its business to drive growth.

He also said the company identified Bucharest as the proposed location for the Kellogg European GBS Service Centre because the city has the established infrastructure required and is already home to similar service centers for other large, global companies, including P&G and Ericsson, according to Manchester Evening News.
