Oil refinery in Romania invests almost EUR 10 mln to reduce dust emissions

24 June 2015

Romanian oil company Rompetrol Rafinare Constanta, member of KazMunayGas International (KMG International), has invested over USD 11 million (EUR 9.8 million) to set up an installation that separates particles.

This will reduce the level of dust released into the atmosphere, namely up to four times lower than the limit set by EU environmental legislation.

KMG International has invested over USD 600 million in the Petromidia petrochemical platform since 2008, according to the company. This has increased the refinery’s processing capacity to 5 million tonnes, by using it at a maximum capacity and thus reduced the impact on the environment, said Yedil Utekov, Rompetrol Rafinare general manager.
