More than 8,200 new homes were delivered in Romania in the first quarter, up 7.65 percent compared to the same period in 2013, according to data from the National Statistics Institute INS.

More than half of the new homes, namely 4,215, were built in the urban area.

The regional distribution shows an increase in the North-West (plus 795 housing units), Bucharest-Ilfov (plus 588 new homes), West (plus 113) and South-West Oltenia (plus 79). Decreases were registered in South-East, North-East, South-Muntenia and Center regions.
