Bucharest City Hall plans to build another underground car park downtown, close to the Old Town, after having inaugurated the first one in 2012.

The car park will be built on the street Sfintii Apostoli , towards the quay of Dambovita river.

The parking plan, however, remains at a preliminary stage. The Bucharest Council still needs to approve its technical and economical features.

The parking at Universitate area downtown Bucharest has 425 places and required an investment of EUR 13 million. Its operation has been outsourced by the city hall to Interparking, which runs the car park.

The lack of parking spaces is a constant problem for drivers in downtown Bucharest. The City Hall has promised to solve the issue by building several car parks in the busiest areas of the city.
